May 2023: Letter to the NKGOP Committee

As I’ve been working to get organized and build digital systems that will help NK Republicans longterm I have started to realize a few things and I’d like to share my heart on this and I encourage feedback and dialogue on any of this.

I served in the Army Reserve for 10 years but deployed alongside active duty infantry, logistics, military police, etc. I was able to move around and work with different units and branches of service and with gov agencies of all shapes and sizes.

Over the years I’ve recognized a few patterns.

Military units / gov agencies are always able to rapidly respond to emergencies. WHY? They have a foundational structure they ALREADY operate under so when the time comes they just EXECUTE.

Today, I work with many organizations on marketing and PR projects and through that work, I get to know the inner structures of these businesses intimately. I see the same patterns for success and leadership in the ones who succeed.

Why does any of this matter?

Right now NKGOP must establish a solid foundation so we can execute better, faster and more precisely. We all know this, and we can make this happen as a team.

The first step toward establishing a solid foundation was electing state level leadership within the GOP that are excited, young and love this state, who believe in conservative values and a “hands off” approach to governance.

If you love lower taxes and the school system letting YOU be the parent in the family, you might just be a Republican.

Any issue of the day will continue to arise, and reacting to issues is important, but we MUST play the long game.

As it pertains to NKGOP Committee itself:

1. Every organization or system that has been in place for decades will not change quickly or easily. Our town committee needs to embrace the fact that it takes time to plan, strategize, build momentum and then execute once we have that foundation established. Distractions must be ignored in the short term to focus on the long term. Once we operate better as a team, the passionate ones who want to be in the thick of it and are great at quick responses / media / comms / organizing will be instrumental to help amplify the message.

2. A hyper-focused, well-oiled organization can take ground exponentially faster when issues arise. I like the analogy of pulling back an arrow far enough for the bow to snap even harder and that arrow knows where it’s landing with momentum behind it.

3. If you want to change out leadership in any government or organization, using the system you’ve been given is the only way. You can try to work outside the system but there are pre-established mechanisms at work that you may not even understand or see – many of which will benefit you as a candidate.

4. Leveraging the system our forefathers handed to us as a Constitutional Republic means that WE THE PEOPLE are in control and should be heavily involved in the decisions facing our families who live and work in our town – especially how / where our money is being used.

5. It may appear that dems made a clean sweep… but if you drill down closer, MANY of the elections they won by less than 200 votes. If EVERY registered Republican showed up in the last election our state would have looked much different right now.

What is a the function of a Town Committee? To find qualified candidates and get them elected. This should always be our focus.

I have HUGE hope ahead for our town. On the surface the last election seemed disheartening, and many of you are even more outraged with the TC and SC (that was elected by our town) because they’re asking for even more cash when they have a $20 million surplus.

We know this and will tackle this, but they are elected officials who represent YOU – at least until the next election.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: The past leadership has been extremely supportive and willing to share their experiences / resources with us. They held down the fort for YEARS, it’s time for them to focus on their families. We are so grateful for their service and their sacrifice to our town.
NEVER FORGET:

  • Voting matters.
  • Victory is closer than you think.
  • Our state motto is HOPE.
  • Our Capitol is PROVIDENCE.
  • We can succeed.
